عمـــر بالهـــــــادي استاذ جامعي متميز، جغرافي التكوين، عمل بإقليم تونس كمخطط مدن (1975-1978) ثم كأستاذ- باحث بكلية الآداب والعلوم الإنسانية في أكتوبر 1978 ثم بكلية العلوم الإنسانية والإجتماعية. وقد ساهم في عدة دراسات لفائدة العديد من المؤسسات مثل صناديق الأمم المتحدة للتنمية والسكان والطفولة (PNUD, FNUAP, UNICEF)، المندوبية العامة للتنمية الجهوية (CGDR)، إقليم تونس(District de Tunis)، مركز الدراسات والبحوث الإقتصادية والإجتماعية (CERES)، وزارة التنمية الإقتصادية (MDE)، المعهد الوطني للإحصاء (INS) وغيرها… : نشرت الأعمال والبحوث في تقارير وكتب ومقالات في عدة مجلات علمية تونسية وأجنبية، أغلبها باللغة الفرنسية وبصفة ثانوية بالعربية والانجليزية مجلات تونسية Revue Tunisienne de Géographie, RTG.
